Climantopía is a Climantica’s initiative aimed at approaching Environmental Education to citizens in a creative way. In this show, awareness on climate change and the environmental crisis is raised through messages transmitted by performing arts, humour, music, dance, magic and body language. Climantopia is a show created for fun and awareness purposes and it was performed for the first time on 21 June at the Conference Centre in Santiago de Compostela during the First Climantica Conference’s closing session. During the summer, there were performances in the seven sustainable towns established in 2008: Ponte Caldelas (27-28 June), Muros (4-5 July), Guitiriz (11-12 July), Allariz (18-19 July), O Covelo (26 July), Abegondo (1-2 August) and O Barco de Valdeooras (8-9 August).
Winners of Climantica Awards second edition stayed in the summer camp held at “Os Biocos” facility.
Almost 300 students from Galician schools met in Santiago on the 21st of June in order to analyse ways to fight against climate change, sustainable development and environmentally-friendly measures in the First Climantica Conference for Students organised by the Galician Ministry for the Environment and Sustainable Development.
On the 5th of July, the first Climantica workshop was held at Fernando Blanco secondary school in Cee in order to celebrate the World Environmental Day.
Climántica presented the project called Climántica Careers at the Orienta Forum 08 which was held at IFEVI in Vigo from the 8th to the 13th April 2008.
